Precision, LLC is a Houston-based company that designs, engineers and distributes API couplings, semi-premium and premium connections supplying the OCTG industry in one of the hottest markets in the South – hydraulic fracturing. Their products are patented, highly-advanced, and are designed to minimize the risk of ruptures, cracks, and other failures that cause fracking operations to lose profits.

The Rebrand

Precision wanted to break away from the brands Precision Couplings, LLC and Precision Connections, LLC and instead stand alone as the leader in pipe couplings and connections for the oil industry. They wanted to have their new brand represent them as the most reliable source for all piping needs.

Redesigning marketing collateral was a significant undertaking in the rebranding process for Precision. The company was on the verge of launching new products into the market and needed the sales and marketing collateral to provide to their prospective customers. Using bold colors, strong calls to action, and detailed product specs, Precision’s sales brochures and other collateral commanded authority and helped build brand trust as innovators in their field.

“Our intention with Precision was to design their brand and collateral with the goal of positioning them as leaders in their industry of oil pipe connections and couplings. To do so, we needed to give them a strong, simple and memorable brand mark with a tagline which made the needed ‘connection’ with their customers. As we repeated aspects of their branding in and about the other touchpoints, we were able to capture what was important to their story and footprint – which is innovative technologies and a tough, safe, and durable product line.”

The Challenge

Despite their expertise and industry leadership, Precision’s online presence did not resonate, nor reflect their ingenuity in the field.

Precision came to Powered Labs with very limited marketing, and as an industry leader, wanted their online reputation to equally represent their innovations to the oil and gas industry. They knew there was work to be done, and entrusted their brand in the hands of the team at Powered Labs to launch a full brand identity overhaul. Precision’s products are the best in class – and they commissioned Powered Labs to execute on the task of demonstrating it in the digital realm.

The Outcome

Starting with a nearly blank canvas, Powered Labs took the reins and delved into the discovery phase that would provide the background needed for the brand overhaul.

We designed a suite of visual identity and product assets that would define Precision’s modernization. From marketing brochures, sales presentations, web presence, social media presence, and email marketing, Powered Labs redesigned all assets to take the brand to the next level. We created product brochures for two new product launches, the HOSS and BK lines, as well as new sales collateral reflecting Precision as the industry leader in the couplings and connections business for the oil and gas industry.

Further evolving Precision’s brand identity was the design, development, and launch of a brand new, responsive website with fresh, optimized content to catapult organic traffic and conversions through the site. Kicking off the launch with a comprehensive content marketing strategy, the Precision blog quickly gained traction on social media as well as search engine results.

Powered Labs also engaged in social media set-up and management for Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube networks to build an online audience who was seeking industry thought leadership.

We also started an industry newsletter and sent bi-weekly eBlasts to their existing CRM to remain top of mind. Our central message: that Precision’s difference lies in its desire to help its clients because their clients are the field workers, the risk takers, the people who work tirelessly to power the world.

Precision’s website traffic has continually grown from the moment of engagement with Powered Labs, as have the number and quality of leads. Precision went from next to zero marketing to having an impactful brand and marketing strategy, increasing their sales exponentially.
